My idea of the difference between point and support is that the point is the main idea/opinion and the support should be around nine to fifteen supporting ideas supporting the point.

ReplyDeleteYou are close here. You are right that the point is the main idea. The support should be 3 ideas that are developed carefully with examples/explanations. The whole paragraph should be approximately 9-15 sentences. The 9-15 sentences includes the topic sentence, support/details, and conclusion. Good start!

I agree that the Clear Thinking And Writing workbook exercises helps you to understand point and support. I reviewed the exercises again and saw some mistakes I made in class and corrected them.
