The Three Steps in the Writing Process
Hi Everyone,
I was very impressed as I reviewed your vokis for the second assignment. They explained the three steps in the writing process (brainstorming, writing, and editing) very clearly. Here are three excellent examples. You can use these to help you review and study. They are detailed and they explain the material well. They are each slightly different also, which shows that there are many successful ways to explain the same idea.

Well I hope the the top left is Mia. Anyways I feel the same about your ideas and and reasoning for the three steps in the writing process. Your way is very simple and to the point too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you -- it was very clear and easy to understand. Great communication is often about clarity.
DeleteThe bottom left one was also good, your thoughts are good. Your thoughts arent too confusing and simple to follow.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed using the three steps in the writing process and see it in a paragraph. Also, I learned a couple of different ways to brainstorm that will help out now and in the future.
That's great to hear, Matt!
DeleteI listened to all 3 vokis and agree with what you all said about the 3 steps in the english writing. They were all to the point and nothing was confusing at all.
ReplyDeleteI have only used one method of brainstorming before this class, which was the cluster. It is very helpful to know of other methods.

It's great that you are receiving exposure to new types of brainstorming!
DeleteI have used three of the four “brainstorming” ways, for other writing projects. I personally use #2, the list and #3 the cluster. In-fact, the “cluster” method, we use many of times in my company when we are developing a new product. It is not just used for writing a story, but a method used other things.

That's an excellent point, April! I love your comments. They are spot on! I've used the cluster method for many other activities, including problem solving and planning for work project as well. Great point!
DeleteKristin...
ReplyDeleteI cannot read lip the Voki talking here.. I am reading others comments and assuming the brainstorming subject. I am not sure what is Cluster methods is. I do think a lot in my mind and a lot of time it is always more than one thing to think about.
Hi Erica,
DeleteYou do have a much harder job since you can't hear the vokis. :( Remember to use the writing that you see to guide you. The title of this post is the "3 Steps in the Writing Process." That means all of the posts discuss that process -- brainstorming, writing, and editing. The cluster method is on the hand-out that I gave you. It's the one that looks like an octopus. :)
(or a sun, depending on your perspective).
Deletei liked all of your vokies and i think the commen one was brainstorming.

Hi Kat,
DeleteThanks for posting. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "i think the commen one was brainstorming." Can you clarify this more?
The first voki explained the three steps very well. Brainstorming is the best fit for me because it is simple.
