    1. Hi Kat,

Critical thinking is a skill that you will continue to use for the rest of your life. It is constantly being developed. You'll get lots of practice in ENG 43 as well as in 49 and 101 and beyond. :)

  3. I tend to procastinate a lot, and this organization helps me to improve and get on task. Are we going to do our essays with partners too? Cause that helps me a ton.

    2. I agree with Hareer. I just don't manage my time well enough and tend to wait last minute then stress out because i don't get things finished.

  4. This is a great summary. I attended the workshop on the 26Sept2012 3:30 to 4:30 also. The workshop help me realize the importance of improving your typing skills. Thank you for the web info about typing. This summary helped me be a better organizer in paper documents. This will definitely help me study and understand all my subjects in college.

    1. Hey Yoni,

That's where the personal responsibility on your part comes in. Here are a couple of things that you can do:

      1) Write down a set time on your calendar to log in and add a comment

      2) Become a "follower" of the blog by clicking on "Follow This Blog." Then, you will get more updates when new posts are created.

      Good luck!

  6. will you be taking points off our grade if we dont have blogs posted for each week?

    1. The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that I keep a list of how many posts each student has created. At the end of the semester, you get credit for the posts that you have made and you lose points for any posts that you didn't do. There are 16 weeks in the semester, but I won't count the first day or the last day of class. That leaves 15 weeks. That means, by the end of the semester, you should have 30 thoughtful and solid posts to get full credit. You are always welcome to do more!

  7. Looking at this is made me realize one can learn a lot in just a couple of weeks when they are determined. It was also good because i went threw the list and tried recalling each bullet point and review what I have learned so I don't forget it.

    1. Fantastic post, Mia! :) That's a great study tip to go back through the posts and check to see what you can recall.

  8. I need more help on sentence structure. It's like I know how to do the assignment but when it comes to writing it all out and stuff I get confused of where things are and how they are supposed to be placed.

    1. I can understand that. Learning to do academic writing is a long process, and it takes a lot of practice. I would recommend coming to I-122 for some individual help and attention.

  9. Time flies by fast and its already the 6 or 7th week already. And I've learned so much and have gotten a better understanding of what we've went over and accomplished. I have more confidence in myself and abilities to do the tasks I'm asked instead of holding back or being a little intimidated. Im trying to learn as much as i can from Kristin and Jessica, so i can be ready for the next course.

  13. A lot of things about Writing and Grammar I never learned in high school which is why English was my worst subject. Now, it's easier and more comphrendable and makes learning quiet easier.
