I need a little help on understanding critical thinking.
ReplyDeleteHi Kat,
DeleteCritical thinking is a skill that you will continue to use for the rest of your life. It is constantly being developed. You'll get lots of practice in ENG 43 as well as in 49 and 101 and beyond. :)
This is a good refresher to look at. I did all :). but it also shows that I need to reply too other students.
ReplyDeleteMichael S.
Good insight!
DeleteI tend to procastinate a lot, and this organization helps me to improve and get on task. Are we going to do our essays with partners too? Cause that helps me a ton.
ReplyDelete-Hareer A.
We'll do a combination of group work and individual work, just like we've been doing. :) I'm glad it helps you!
DeleteI agree with Hareer. I just don't manage my time well enough and tend to wait last minute then stress out because i don't get things finished.

This is a great summary. I attended the workshop on the 26Sept2012 3:30 to 4:30 also. The workshop help me realize the importance of improving your typing skills. Thank you for the web info about typing. This summary helped me be a better organizer in paper documents. This will definitely help me study and understand all my subjects in college.

Great to hear, Lisandro!
Deletei need help on keeping up with the blogs!
ReplyDeleteHey Yoni,
DeleteThat's where the personal responsibility on your part comes in. Here are a couple of things that you can do:
1) Write down a set time on your calendar to log in and add a comment
2) Become a "follower" of the blog by clicking on "Follow This Blog." Then, you will get more updates when new posts are created.
Good luck!
will you be taking points off our grade if we dont have blogs posted for each week?
ReplyDeleteThe short answer is yes. The longer answer is that I keep a list of how many posts each student has created. At the end of the semester, you get credit for the posts that you have made and you lose points for any posts that you didn't do. There are 16 weeks in the semester, but I won't count the first day or the last day of class. That leaves 15 weeks. That means, by the end of the semester, you should have 30 thoughtful and solid posts to get full credit. You are always welcome to do more!
DeleteLooking at this is made me realize one can learn a lot in just a couple of weeks when they are determined. It was also good because i went threw the list and tried recalling each bullet point and review what I have learned so I don't forget it.
ReplyDeleteFantastic post, Mia! :) That's a great study tip to go back through the posts and check to see what you can recall.
DeleteI need more help on sentence structure. It's like I know how to do the assignment but when it comes to writing it all out and stuff I get confused of where things are and how they are supposed to be placed.
ReplyDeleteJasmine J.
I can understand that. Learning to do academic writing is a long process, and it takes a lot of practice. I would recommend coming to I-122 for some individual help and attention.
DeleteTime flies by fast and its already the 6 or 7th week already. And I've learned so much and have gotten a better understanding of what we've went over and accomplished. I have more confidence in myself and abilities to do the tasks I'm asked instead of holding back or being a little intimidated. Im trying to learn as much as i can from Kristin and Jessica, so i can be ready for the next course.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Cyrus! I love your positive attitude. You have made so much progress already!
Deletethat comment was by me Cyrus I.
ReplyDeletejust seeing this makes me feel like dang we're only getting to the half way point & what's the final gonna look like.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much you can learn in 16 weeks if you put your mind to it!
DeleteThe Study skills and habitits are real thankful.
ReplyDeleteJosh
A lot of things about Writing and Grammar I never learned in high school which is why English was my worst subject. Now, it's easier and more comphrendable and makes learning quiet easier.
ReplyDeleteDesalle J.
Ive learned a lot this semester and I know im a better writer, this class is going to help me in my next classes moving forward and make it easy for me to write essays
ReplyDeleteThis class has not only helped me to get better at my skills, but it has thought me things which have been forgotten overt the 4 years I served. I'm applying it to all my classes and am doing better on every paper I write.
ReplyDeleteNick C.
Looking at the goals there are very impressive. That was just in a month wow
ReplyDeleteThats crazy to think we have leard so much in so little time here this semester has truly helped me so much and not only in this class but all of my classes. It even helped me do better at another school I am attending.
