Reflect on Your Progress

Think about how you felt before you wrote your paragraph about Sheldon.  Compare that to how you feel now that you have the first assignment under your belt.  Take a look at the following questions and post a comment if you feel comfortable discussing your thoughts on this topic.
  1. How have your feelings about writing changed?
  2. How have your feelings about your ability changed?
  3. What do you feel more confident about now?
  4. What are you still nervous/unsure about?

  5. I feel more confident in my writing because I understand the sentence structure better. But I'm still a little confused about finding and understanding action verbs and linking verbs. Also I still have trouble writing 9-15 sentences.

    1. Hi Crystal,

It's great to be aware of what you have mastered and what is still difficult for you. We will do a lot more discussion about verbs, and you will get a lot more practice with the 9-15 sentence mark. Great thoughts!

    1. Hi Michael,

I'm not quite sure what you mean here? You don't feel confident in your high school schedule? Can you explain this more?

  7. I've always liked free writing on my own time or just to escape from reality. Not worrying about grammar errors or misspelling, I feel as if writing is a good therapy for someone who feels that they have a lot on their mind. After just a couple weeks of being in Eng 43, I like the fact that I'm touching base with this course by refreshing my memory on writing essays. It's a great feeling learning to comprehend and to associate with others who may have the same struggle as I do.

  8. I feel alot more confident about writing paragraphs thanks to the steps and process we are being teached in our classroom. i think that putting your thoughts together this way is a great, because that way when i am ready to write the actually paragraph i can just guide myself by all my brainstorming.

    1. You know what they said about the turtle, "Slow and steady wins the race." Verbs are tricky. I'm glad to see you coming to the lab and asking questions. We all learn a little at a time. You won't be perfect in one week or even one semester. Hang in there!
