To make a good decision, a person should know the two sides of the story. It also helps me understand the other side of the argument.

Something happened to me a few years ago. I was halfway on my Navy career, 10 years in service. I wondered if I could just get out or not. Me and my wife talked about two sides military or civilian life. One of the arguments that stood out was in 10 more years I could retire. So me and my wife decided I should go for 20 years in service. I'm glad I made that decision 10 years ago.

Excellent example! This is very crucial moment in your life when weighing the pros and cons really helped out. It sounds like you are happy with your decision. Thanks for sharing this insight!
ReplyDeleteits a very good idea to hear both sides of an argument because the person judging or analyzing the important points needs to be able to give an ultimatum at the end. As for building the case, the group or team gathering their information should have real facts ( times and dates) or hard evidence to support what ever their subject of discussion is about.
ReplyDelete@ anonymous; picture it this way if it ever comes up again;; or almost half way there dude!!
Good point, Patrick! Knowing both sides will help you make an informed decision, like Lisandro did when he had to decide whether to stay in the Navy or leave it.
DeleteSometimes within or into the hard deal or involving to the difficulty situations that we should or need to be in the middle and to solve it...easier...

You're right; it's easier to make a difficult decision when you have information from both sides. Can you think of a specific time when you had to get information to make a decision like that?
DeleteI agree with Lisandro, you should always know both sides to an arguement. You need to know all the facts before you make a decision. -Norma L.
ReplyDeletei agree with you completely
Deleteits important because both sides are stating an opinion and either of them could be right - Gary A
ReplyDeleteIts easier to understand the case fully so that you may get a better understanding to lean on a side or not.

Great points!
ReplyDeleteLisandro made a good point about two sides of the arguement, and his personal experience about the navy really made me understand more.

Know two things is very good. More information is always better when comparing and contrasting.
