Monday, October 8th:
- Bring one typed copy of your compare/contrast paragraph that discusses the differences between high school and college. (We will do our peer review in class on Monday. If you don't have your draft, you won't be able to participate in the peer review which will cost your valuable points for your grade).
- The FINAL draft of your high school versus college paragraph will be due
- The REVISED copy of your paragraph about the advantages of living in San Diego will be due
Here is more information about the revision process if you want to revise your San Diego paragraph:
Paragraph Revision
My goal is
to help you learn and improve your writing skills, so I give you the opportunity to
revise your paragraphs for this class.
This serves two purposes: 1) it
helps you learn more through practice AND 2) you can get more points to help
your grade.
If you are happy with your original
grade, you don’t need to do anything. If
you want to get more practice & a better grade, here is how it works:
·
You
have ONE week to revise your paragraph.
·
Use
the comments that I give you in your original paragraph to edit and correct
your writing
·
The
revised paragraph must be typed
·
STAPLE the revised paragraph ON TOP
of the original paragraph and rubric
·
You
will get the average of the two grades.
So, if you get 70% on your original and 90% on the revision, your final
grade will be 80%.
·
You
must do VERY careful revision if you want to increase your score significantly.
I will revised my paragraph.

Thank you for giving us the oppurtunity to do this. It helps us get more points and practice on what were not so good at.

I agree with what josh said. By giving us another opportunity to revise our paragraph and take the time to look through the mistakes, try harder, and be able to get a better grade definitely improves our confidence and abilities to hopefully write better papers. Cyrus I
